About Us

By the end of third grade, children must transition from learning to read to reading to learn. The National Research Council asserts that a person who is not at least a moderately skilled reader by third grade is unlikely to graduate from high school. Children who read below grade level struggle to catch up, exhibit more behavioral and social problems in school, and have higher rates of repeating grades.

Since 1997, Everybody Wins! Atlanta, a local affiliate of the Everybody Wins national nonprofit network, has been devoted to improving the reading skills and developing a love of reading in students who are reading below grade level, giving them a greater chance for success in school and expanding their life horizon.

Power Lunch is our unique signature literacy and mentoring initiative. The turn-key program gives individuals in local businesses and community groups the opportunity to make a positive impact on students in community schools during their lunch hour. A second program, StoryTime, helps cultivate the joy of reading in young students by bringing books alive through interactive storytelling events.
